How did you start enjoying life again after feeling depressed for months?

It's been about seven months where nothing really lands. I still work, I still text people back, but the part of me that used to look forward to things is just gone. I'm not looking for a cure — I'd like to hear from people who came out the other side and what the first sign of life felt like.

Lost my mum at 24. Grief didn't end, it changed shape. I write about the practical parts nobody warns you about.

Was unemployed and directionless for 18 months. Motivation came back through embarrassingly small steps.
